About the Event

Few topics instill stronger feelings and capture the imagination more than big cats in Kansas. These elusive felines are becoming more common in our state and Matt Peek, wildlife research biologist for the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, knows this as well as anyone. In addition to the status of verified sitings in Kansas, Peek will discuss mountain lion biology, identification through tracks, scat, photos, depredations, and what the recent flurry of verified cases may indicate about the future of mountain lions in Kansas.
