JOIN US ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 29 at 6 PM and MEET THE AUTHOR OF “MERRY MORPHO” AND THE “SAVANNAH SPIDER SUPER SCIENTIST” SERIES! The event will include a book signing as well as a reading of “Merry Morpho” and a short talk and Q&A session about the books from Dustin. Due to cold weather, we will not be having a Spider Walk (spiders don’t like the cold!).

“Merry Morpho: A Butterfly’s Effect” fulfills a promise I made to the Amazon rainforest and the people that live there. Written in whimsical rhyming style for younger kids, this picture book merges the journey of a butterfly and her jungle friends with a boy across the planet who makes a rather ordinary choice with extraordinary consequences. Following the chain of events that leads to an unfortunate ending, the story urges that there must be a better way. To give hope for a brighter future, we have to think differently and maybe even turn our world upside down. This fun and engaging book shows that the smallest of actions by even the smallest of people can change the world.

My mission is to improve science literacy through education. My books follow the adventures of a young scientist, Savannah, that happens to be my favorite animal, a spider. During each adventure, kids will learn about science and even a little about spider biology. Kids will love reading my stories so much they won’t even realize they are learning at the same time. Kids will learn it is never too early to be curious and look at the world through the eyes of science.
